Job Title: Regional Manager – Chennai

This role is responsible for all Agastya activities and programs in the defined region. A region will have one or more Area Incharges depending on the size of the region. The Area Incharges report to the Regional manager. The broad areas of responsibility including

  • ·         Managing all employees in the region – varies from 30 to 100 employees depending on the region
  • ·         Monitoring of ongoing programs to ensure that all deliverables are met both qualitative and quantitative for all programs in the region
  • ·         Hiring and Training of people – Instructors, Drivers, Area Incharges etc
  • ·         Timely submission of reports for all programs
  • ·         Manage the cash for all programs in the region – is the approving authority for all expenses and hence responsible to ensure proper usage of money as per norms
  • ·         Stakeholder management – Donors, Government, Schools, Teachers and other resource persons etc
  • ·         Getting approvals from the concerned departments for visiting schools and conducting our programs
  • ·         Drive Innovation in both process and programs and work for the growth of Agastya’s reach in that region
  • ·         Manage all events and new program launches

The person should be a graduate with 7-10 years of experience in the Social Sector. Empathy for fellow human beings is a must. A track record of managing a large team is required. A go getter, who is committed to working for the welfare of children and is always looking for new ways of reaching out to the children and improving the quality of intervention is desired. Good oral and written communication skills and basic IT skills are essential. Knowledge of local language ( at least speaking) is also essential.

Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Mumbai

Task and Job Responsibilities:

- Support the organizations external relations and functions.

- Planning the implementation of the project in the project area.

- Regular monitoring of the implementation of the project by the team.

- Be the interface with the Donors and Head Office regarding reporting and liaison.

- Provide inputs for development of the project activities and timely meeting of targets.

- Plan and execute capacity building needs of the team.

- Should coordinate M&E program

- Maintain good relationship with all stakeholders and govt. officials

- Prepare reports and ensure timely submission of the project

Qualifications and Experience:

- Graduate degree in any subject from a reputable institute/university, exposure to

education sector is preferred.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi and any one local

language.

- Ability to use computers and perform basic technical tasks.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide and diverse set of

people.

Internships

Summer Internship!

Internship for 4-6 weeks at our Bangalore Office. Open to high school graduates, students pursuing their Bachelors or Masters as well. Internship involves working with the Partner Relations team as well as Social Media and Communications.

Job Title / Designation :

Intern – MediaArts Lab

Projects for Internship

Project 1 - Short film/ documentary on key Agastya programs

As Agastya expands, there is a need for crisp 5 – 8 minute video clips showcasing the program (idea origin, need, mode of implementation, current status, impact on key beneficiaries). Selected interns will be required to develop script, visit relevant sites to obtain footage and edit the video. It is expected that 2 – 3 such videos can be completed during a 6 – 8 week period. Agastya will provide equipment and editing facilities.

Project 2 -  Impact Stories - Video

Over 10 years, Agastya has impacted several young children whose achievements include winning science fair awards (INTEL IRIS), continuing their education, becoming role-models in their communities. Agastya has compiled several of these either in written form or as raw video footage. Each of these stories need to be documented in a short, well-edited video. Selected interns will have to work with the children and other stakeholders involved in the child’s story, develop a script, obtain footage and edit the video. Agastya will provide equipment and editing facilities.

Project 3 -  Impact Stories - Text

Agastya has defined and developed key indicators for impact. Selected interns will need to work with stakeholder groups, identify potential stories, conduct detailed interviews of children related stakeholders to develop a creatively written case study that showcases impact of Agastya’s input to the child. Agastya will provide assistance in directing interns to potential stakeholder group.
