Our national award-winning center provided a stage for an electric performance in front of 1400 spectators! Sangam 2 gathered 150 rural children for a brilliant dance, music and theater performance exploring science and self-expression.
The second edition of Sangam was a tremendous success. The program involved a lot of concepts coming together- classical and folk dance, classical and folk music, a theatre piece conceptualised by the children, and science concepts through the multi-arts. The process included discussions on civics and sociology in a play on borders, environment and physics, exponential numbers and dance, and attempted to question, in as gentle a manner as possible, stereotypes that children grow up with in rural Andhra. For the Agastya team, the process has been challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
