The practical model developed and used by AIF instructors is based on research done in India and abroad.


I. Teacher Education Center

Create a high quality teacher education center, which will become a major source for trainers and highly motivated teachers for schools across India.

Key elements and objectives of the proposed Teacher Education Center:

- Curriculum to cover all core disciplines

- Develop effective partnerships with schools

- Skills and techniques taught must be 'scaleable' to meet both urban and rural needs

- Provide in-service programs

- Encourage cross-fertilization among schools

- Provide basic management and behavioral training

- Establish creative collaborations with institutions such as the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education, Mumbai

II. Establish a world class school as "a center for creative excellence", which will become a catalyst for change

· Build close working relationships between the school and the Teacher Education Center.

· Institute world-class academic standards and facilities.

· Emphasize integrated education providing cultural opportunities for children.
