Anveshana is a Science and Engineering competition where undergraduate students mentor underprivileged school students to create models based on engineering concepts through hands-on learning and research. Each team includes 2 engineering students and 2 school students, working together on projects addressing social problems. The school students gain exposure to planning, design, and scientific concepts throughout the process.

Since 2011, Agastya International Foundation has successfully organized Anveshana in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai. We are adding new locations to this program. The competition is well-received in several states across India.

About Anveshana

    • Initial Screening: Engineering college teams submit concept synopses on social problems and engineering solutions for pre-screening by the jury.

    • First-round Jury Process: The jury evaluates registered projects and selects the top 30-37 teams (depending on location) to implement and demonstrate their ideas.

    • Selection of Teams and Mentees: Selected teams form groups with underprivileged school students and work together to plan, design, and build models.

    • Model Creation and Quality Check: Agastya teams, along with senior educators and engineers, visit colleges to support the teams and ensure model quality and effective mentorship.

    • Technical Advice from Agastya: Agastya assists teams by connecting them with institutions like IISc and IIT for additional technical or conceptual guidance.

    • Anveshana Fair: Teams exhibit their models and present their findings to an expert jury of scientists and educators through oral and written presentations.

    • Delegates at the Fair: Scientists, educators, and students from various institutions and schools will attend the fair.

    • Awards: Prizes are awarded at the fair’s valedictory function.
