From Balancing Nails to Building Thinkers

A three-day Teacher Transformation Program in Maharashtra brought together teachers to explore Design Thinking and low-cost science models through hands-on activities. Across Nashik and Ahilyanagar, a total of 900 teachers were trained to bring more experiential learning into their classrooms. The sessions included activities such as Balancing Nail, Brain Cap and Atmospheric Pressure, along with brainstorming techniques and the Design Thinking process. Teachers learned to identify real-world problems, develop practical solutions, and guide children in turning their ideas into innovative projects for the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Awards and other competitions
A Lab on Two Wheels Rolls into Dharwad

A new partnership with Dr. M. I. Savadatti Vidyavardhaka Samsthe, Dharwad, marks an important step in supporting the Lab-on-a-Bike program and bringing hands-on science learning to more children.
The inauguration brought together donors, Education Department officials, Agastya team members, YuvAcharya B.Ed. students, and Operation Vasantha (OV) volunteers. The educational and cultural organization has committed its support for three years. It has also provided a spacious room for a Science Center, where we will run training sessions and support day-to-day operations.
Through the Lab-on-a-Bike program, Ignators take hands-on STEM learning to remote areas. Equipped with compact lab-in-a-boxes, science models, videos, and quizzes, these mobile labs help children explore scientific concepts through experiments, ask questions, and connect science to their everyday lives. The new Lab-on-a-Bike will create more opportunities for children in the region to learn by doing and discover the joy of science.
